On the afternoon of July 3rd, at the Presidential Palace, President To Lam received the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam, Uladzimir Baravikou, who paid a courtesy visit and congratulated the President on assuming his new position.

During the meeting, President To Lam congratulated Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou on the National Day of the Republic of Belarus (July 3, 1991 - July 3, 2024) and expressed his pleasure at the socio -economic achievements that Belarus has made in its national development in recent years.

The President affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to traditional friendly relations Multifaceted cooperation with Belarus has been nurtured by the leaders and people of both countries since the Soviet era, and has continued to be promoted for over 30 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.

Vietnam has always regarded Belarus as a friend and reliable partner, cherishing the assistance that the Belarusian people have given to Vietnam in the past, and is determined to continue strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Belarus.

The President highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the two countries in the past period, including the promotion of the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism in implementing cooperation agreements and efforts to find measures to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of political-diplomatic relations, economic-trade, investment, defense, security, science and technology, culture, education, and local cooperation…

For his part, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou affirmed that Belarus values ​​the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries and wishes to strengthen cooperation in all areas, including political-diplomatic, economic-trade, cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges, especially between the younger generations of the two countries.

The Ambassador expressed strong agreement with the directions for promoting cooperation proposed by the President, including exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially at the high level, through all channels: Party, State, Parliament, and Youth Union; strengthening people-to-people exchanges, including cultural and tourism exchanges, particularly after the Agreement between Vietnam and Belarus on visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports comes into effect; and affirmed that the Ambassador himself will make every effort to develop the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus.

Discussing cooperation in international organizations and multilateral forums, President To Lam and the Ambassador of Belarus agreed that the two countries will continue to coordinate and support each other in international and regional forums, such as the United Nations and the Eurasian Economic Union, for the common benefit of both countries, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
