Honoring 'Vietnamese Ambassador' in 2024

On the evening of September 8, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Closing Ceremony of Vietnamese Language Honor Day 2024 and the Dear Vietnamese Language Gala Program took place with the participation of more than 600 delegates. The "Vietnamese Language Ambassadors" of 2024 were honored and awarded certificates of merit.

The event was organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in coordination with Vietnam Television and relevant agencies, aiming to honor and spread the Vietnamese language among the overseas Vietnamese community.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet commented that the implementation activities Vietnamese Language Appreciation Day has received widespread attention and response from central and local ministries, departments, branches, socio- political organizations, people in the country and our compatriots abroad. The programs and activities are diverse in form, rich in content and innovative in implementation, thereby creating an environment for exchange and improvement of Vietnamese language for generations of Vietnamese people abroad, especially the young generation.

Emphasizing that the Party and State always pay special attention to preserving and promoting the Vietnamese language in particular and the national cultural identity in general, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet hopes that overseas Vietnamese will always pay attention to teaching and learning Vietnamese for their children and grandchildren - the future generation of the community, as well as preserving and promoting the nation's fine traditional values to the international community and friends.

At the program, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong awarded prizes to 5 outstanding candidates who won the title of "Vietnamese Ambassador" in the Contest "Searching for Vietnamese Ambassadors in the Overseas Vietnamese Community in 2024", including: Tran Vu Hanh My (Japan), Lanny Phetnion (Laos), Thuy Le - Scherello (Germany), Nguyen The Duong (Australia) and Nguyen Thi Thu Loan (Algeria). These are factors with important missions to contribute to promoting culture, inspiring, motivating learning and using Vietnamese among our compatriots abroad; thereby contributing to preserving and honoring the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community.
