Navy Region 4 presents national flags and provides free medical examinations to hundreds of fishermen in Ninh Thuan

At the program, Brigade 955 - Naval Region 4 organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to more than 100 people; presented 500 national flags, life jackets and 10 gifts to fishermen's families in difficult circumstances.

The program also awarded 10 scholarships to disadvantaged fishermen's children who have made great efforts in their studies. At the same time, the organization disseminated information on the Law of the Sea of ​​Vietnam and Directive 45 of the Prime Minister on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dung, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Naval Region 4, said that the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" was signed by the Naval Region 4 Command with Ninh Thuan province in 2019. This is the fourth time the program has been organized in Ninh Thuan. Previously, this program also supported life buoys and national flags for hundreds of other fishermen in Phan Rang - Thap Cham city and Thuan Nam district.

According to Colonel Dung, through the program to further promote propaganda work, he hopes that fishermen will feel secure in going out to sea to develop the economy and improve their lives.

"Each ship going out to sea is a sovereignty milestone, each fisherman is a soldier maintaining traditional fishing grounds, firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland...", Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dung emphasized.

Excitedly receiving the life buoy and national flag, fisherman Vo Duc Chi from Thanh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district (Ninh Thuan) said, “We fishermen are very happy and excited to receive the government's attention. This is a great spiritual encouragement for us to continue going out to sea to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland.”

"The national flag on the ship always encourages the spirit and reminds us of the responsibility of each of us fishermen in protecting the sovereignty of our country's sea and islands...", fisherman Chi said emotionally.
