Periwinkle is a herbaceous plant, 40 - 80 cm high, with vertical branches.

Leaves are 3-8 cm long, 1-2.5 cm wide, elongated, pointed at the tip and gradually narrowing towards the stem, without latex, growing symmetrically.

Periwinkle flowers grow individually in the leaf axils, the middle of the flower is usually yellow or dark red, with a characteristic aroma. People often use this plant to make traditional medicine.
