WVI supports mountainous commune in Quang Tri to improve the quality of preschool education and child protection

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province recently issued Decision No. 2566/QD-UBND approving the project document on Improving the quality of preschool education and protecting children using the Montessori method in the Huong Hoa regional program, Quang Tri province, sponsored by World Vision International (WVI).

The project has a total non-refundable aid capital of 64,761 USD, equivalent to nearly 1.6 billion VND and is implemented at Huong Phung Kindergarten (Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province). Thereby, improving the quality of preschool education and protecting children in this commune using the Montessori method, promoting comprehensive development for children.

With implementation period until September 2025. The main activities of the project include: Organizing training for preschool teachers and local partners on Montessori combined with a project kick-off workshop; Supporting materials to set up and decorate classrooms according to the Montessori method; Upgrading classrooms into Montessori-inspired learning spaces to facilitate collaborative activities and individual exploration .

In addition, the project also organizes communication sessions for parents about the Montessori educational method; organizes quarterly feedback meetings, integrated with communication sessions (01 meeting/quarter), enhances the capacity of ethnic minority parents in child-rearing skills, supports the development and protection of children from violence.

At the same time, the project establishes parent groups according to the age of the children and organizes regular meetings; Organizes training and communication events on positive discipline, protecting children from violence for parent groups. At the same time, supports parents and teachers to implement initiatives to improve the interactive learning environment for children.
