DNO - According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nong Son Commune, the Thu Bon River rose rapidly, causing widespread flooding in Nong Son Commune. On the night of October 26, Nong Son Commune urgently evacuated more than 40 households in riverside and low-lying areas to safety.

Recorded at 7am on October 27, the water level at Nong Son Hydrological Station reached 16.42m, exceeding the level III alarm by 1.42m, the water continued to rise slowly. Many residential areas and traffic routes were partially cut off.

DT611 route through Khe Le is flooded over 2m deep; many other locations such as Ben Y bridge, Ben Dinh bridge, May Nuoc bridge, Thom market area and inter-village roads are flooded from 0.5 - 1.5m deep, temporarily isolating some residential areas in Phuoc Binh, Loc Trung and Trung Phuoc villages.

On the night of October 26, the police and militia forces of the commune set up checkpoints, put up warning signs and strictly prohibited people from passing through flooded areas to ensure safety.

Faced with the complicated developments of the flood, on the night of October 26, the militia, police and disaster prevention teams urgently evacuated more than 40 households in riverside and low-lying areas to safety; at the same time, they assisted people in moving their belongings and proactively cut off electricity in deeply flooded areas to prevent incidents.

Nong Son commune leaders said they will continue to maintain the "4 on-site" motto, with 100% of the military on duty, checking households at risk of landslides, continuing to evacuate when necessary; ensuring food, drinking water, and medicine at evacuation points.

Propaganda and forecasting work is carried out regularly to help people proactively respond and absolutely not be subjective during the complicated period of floods.
