Determining 8 teams entering the quarterfinals of the 2025 National U17 Championship

On the afternoon of September 19, the final round of Group A of the National U17 Football Championship - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 ended, thereby determining all eight teams that qualified for the quarterfinals.

At the Ba Ria Stadium, the match between U17 Ho Chi Minh City and U17 Steel Green Nam Dinh was evenly contested. The home team controlled the game better but failed to capitalize on the clear opportunities created by Quang Khoi, Quang Hung, and Phu Ngoc.

In the second half, U17 Ho Chi Minh City continued to press but still couldn't break through the disciplined defense of the Nam Dinh team. With a 0-0 draw, U17 Steel Green Nam Dinh earned 4 points after three matches and became one of the two best third-placed teams to advance to the quarterfinals.

In the other match, U17SHB Da Nang faced U17 Hanoi Police. Determined to secure all three points, U17 Hanoi Police started proactively and continuously pressured their opponents.

However, it was U17 SHB Da Nang who opened the scoring after Xuan Phuc's close-range finish in the 49th minute. U17 Hanoi Police's efforts to find an equalizer helped them level the score at 1-1 in the 69th minute through Long Nhat.

However, right in the final minute of injury time, Anh Luc scored the winning goal, securing a 2-1 victory for U17 SHB Da Nang. With only 1 point after 3 matches, U17 Hanoi Police officially bowed out in the group stage.

At the end of the group stage, U17 SHB Da Nang led Group A with 6 points, U17 Ho Chi Minh City came second with 5 points, while U17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh finished third with 4 points. U17 Hanoi Police finished last with 1 point.

Along with the results from groups B and C, the list of 8 teams participating in the quarter-finals includes: U17 SHB Da Nang, U17 Ho Chi Minh City, U17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, U17 Song Lam Nghe An, U17 Hanoi, U17 PVF-People's Police, U17 The Cong Viettel and U17 An Giang.

In that match, U17 An Giang surpassed U17 Becamex Ho Chi Minh City in the race for the third-placed team with the better record thanks to scoring more goals (5 compared to 1), even though both teams had 3 points and a goal difference of -5.

The quarter-finals promise to be exciting and attractive when gathering many teams with rich traditions and promising young forces.
