Vinh Long province is holding its first Provincial Veterans Association Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

Delivering a keynote address at the Congress, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Ho Thi Hoang Yen acknowledged and highly appreciated the models, initiatives, and proactive approach of the Provincial Veterans Association, and commended the achievements that the Vinh Long Provincial Veterans Association has made in the past term.

In the coming term, all levels of the Veterans Association need to focus on maintaining, spreading, and further enhancing the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers." They should be exemplary in building the Party and government; propose specific solutions to local authorities; care for the lives of members; and at the same time, build a truly strong, disciplined, and effective Veterans Association. This includes innovating leadership methods, applying digital transformation to association work; and strengthening the team of dedicated, capable, and proactive association officials.

Furthermore, the Provincial Veterans Association needs to work alongside the province in major programs that contribute to Vinh Long's breakthrough; actively responding to and participating in key tasks such as: building new rural areas, digital transformation of communities, developing civilized, green, and smart urban areas, developing the regional economy , marine space, and tourism services. Veterans must be the core force, leading the way in implementing the national target program for building new rural areas, poverty reduction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas within the province, as well as in local revolutionary action movements.

At the Congress, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial Veterans Association for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 39 members, the Standing Committee of 13 members, the President, Vice President, Inspection Committee, and Head of the Inspection Committee of the Association. Colonel Tong Thanh Phong was elected President of the Vinh Long Provincial Veterans Association for the 2025-2030 term.
