In the first minutes of the match, the Vietnamese women's team played enthusiastically and pushed up their formation. However, this left many gaps in the defense.
In the 7th minute, Portugal opened the score thanks to Telma Encarnacao. The goal came from a quick attack on the right wing of the European team. The Vietnamese defenders did not mark the opponent players well.
