The Group C qualifying round for the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup will be held at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho province ) from September 3rd to 9th. According to the schedule, Vietnam U23 will play against Bangladesh (September 3rd), Singapore (September 6th), and Yemen (September 9th).

In this group, the Vietnam U23 team is the top contender for first place and a ticket to the finals. That is also the goal of coach Kim Sang Sik and his team.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U23 team will assemble after the third round of the V-League with 23 members. The entire team will have four days to prepare for their opening match against Bangladesh.

The 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers will feature 44 teams, divided into 11 groups. After the qualifying matches, the 11 group winners and the 4 best-performing second-placed teams will qualify for the finals in Saudi Arabia.

At the most recent AFC U23 Asian Championship, Vietnam U23 easily qualified. In the finals, Vietnam U23 reached the quarter-finals before losing 0-1 to Iraq U23. Iraq U23 then finished third in the tournament.
