The qualifying round of Group C of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship will be held at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ) from September 3 to September 9. According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will meet Bangladesh (September 3), Singapore (September 6) and Yemen (September 9).

In this group, the U23 Vietnam team is the number 1 candidate for the top position and a ticket to the final round. That is also the goal of coach Kim Sang Sik and his team.

According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will gather after round 3 of V-League with 23 members. The whole team has 4 days to prepare for the opening match against Bangladesh.

The 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will feature 44 teams, divided into 11 groups. After the qualifying matches, the 11 group winners and the four best runners-up will qualify for the finals in Saudi Arabia.

At the most recent AFC U23 Championship, Vietnam U23 easily qualified. In the final round, Vietnam U23 reached the quarterfinals, before losing to Iraq U23 0-1. Iraq U23 then won third place in the tournament.
