Men with premature ejaculation may have more difficulty conceiving, but they can still father children, and this can be improved with therapies or medication.
According to Dr. Pham Xuan Long, Department of Andrology, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, premature ejaculation is a fairly common condition that can occur at many ages. Approximately 20-30% of men cannot control their ejaculation time. This not only affects sexual pleasure, causes feelings of inferiority, and reduces sexual desire, but also impacts male fertility.
Premature ejaculation makes it difficult for the egg and sperm to meet, resulting in a low chance of conception. However, unlike other ejaculatory disorders that significantly affect male fertility, such as delayed ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation, or anejaculation, premature ejaculation may make conception difficult, but the possibility of having children still exists.
In many mild cases, men can still ejaculate into the vagina, and if healthy sperm are produced, conception can still occur. Conception is impossible when ejaculation happens too early, preventing sperm from traveling into the vagina. Specifically, if ejaculation occurs as soon as the penis makes contact with or touches the vagina, preventing the egg from meeting the sperm, natural conception is impossible.

However, while premature ejaculation is not a life-threatening condition, it can be improved in many ways, depending on the cause. Some of the main causes include genetic factors, hyperthyroidism, erectile dysfunction, chronic prostatitis, and depression. In addition, stress, fatigue, lack of sexual experience, or emotional shock can also cause men to experience uncontrolled ejaculation. This can also be a consequence of rapid masturbation, along with habits such as staying up late, lack of exercise, and an unbalanced diet.
Dr. Xuan Long noted that, to protect reproductive function, men should address and improve symptoms of premature ejaculation as soon as possible. Prolonged premature ejaculation significantly impacts quality of life and negatively affects relationships with partners.
Treatment methods include psychotherapy, stress reduction and management, and behavioral therapies such as the "stop-start" method, "pressing" techniques, and self-training techniques during non-intercourse periods. In many cases, patients will be prescribed medication as the primary treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

In addition, men need a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition, exercise, and rest; a varied and balanced diet, increasing consumption of foods beneficial for men such as seafood (oysters, crab, shrimp, fish...), meat, eggs, milk, grains, nuts, watermelon, oranges, grapefruit, asparagus, celery, chives... Limit the use of stimulants, alcohol, and quit smoking...; practice sports such as Kegel exercises, weightlifting, swimming, yoga, squats... to help men boost vitality and improve their ability to control their sperm, Dr. Xuan Long recommends.
