On October 12, information from Russia and Ukraine showed a series of UAV attacks by both sides.

According to information from the Russian Ministry of Defense , the country's military shot down 47 Ukrainian UAVs overnight, including 17 UAVs shot down in the southeastern Krasnodar region; 16 UAVs shot down over the Azov Sea; and 12 UAVs destroyed in the border province of Kursk.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that it had neutralized 24 out of 28 UAVs launched by Russia into its territory. These UAVs were destroyed in the Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mikolayev and Kherson regions.

In addition, the Ukrainian General Staff also said that its forces attacked a fuel depot in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region, causing a large fire. However, Russia has not confirmed this information.

The governor of Russia's Krasnodar region announced on Telegram that Ukrainian UAV attacks damaged three houses and burned a vehicle.

Russian forces have so far made progress on the eastern front and targeted Ukraine’s power grid, a development that has left Ukraine facing its most difficult winter since Russia launched its large-scale military operation in February 2022.
