The Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 6394/BGDĐT-GDQPAN dated October 10, 2024 to Hanoi University of Science and Technology on strengthening the direction of ensuring meal quality and food safety and hygiene after receiving feedback on the poor quality of meals of students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology during the concentrated study period of National Defense and Security Education.
In the Official Dispatch, the Ministry of Education and Training requested Hanoi University of Science and Technology to strengthen the direction, management and organization of the implementation of the subject of National Defense and Security Education according to the provisions of law, instructions of the Ministry and related ministries and branches.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training requested Hanoi University of Science and Technology to direct the verification and clarification of the content reflecting on the poor quality of meals for students during the concentrated study period of the subject of National Defense and Security Education; and strictly handle the relevant collectives and individuals (if there are violations) according to the provisions of law.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology needs to direct the organization of a centralized kitchen for students studying National Defense and Security Education strictly according to regulations, ensuring the correct and sufficient portion of meals; transparent and public finances to avoid waste and loss, ensuring food hygiene and safety.
According to the reflection, during the intensive study period of National Defense and Security Education, students had to eat leftover rice and soup that the cafeteria staff had left over. Along with that, some students said that they had discovered cockroach carcasses and foreign objects mixed in the food many times. There were about 500 students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology participating in this course.
The Government Office has issued document No. 7385/VPCP-KGVX conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long regarding the poor quality of meals for students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to urgently direct inspections and strictly handle violations according to regulations; at the same time, strengthen direction, management and inspection of the implementation of work to ensure food hygiene and safety for students in educational institutions, ensuring quality and safety, and preventing similar cases from recurring.
