Candidates register online at: https://tsa.hust.edu.vn. Exam fee is 500,000 VND.
It is expected that about 25,000 candidates will register in the first round. The first round of exams will take place over two days, from January 24-25, 2026.

In 2026, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to have 3 rounds of thinking assessment exams with the following specific exam schedule:
Phase 1: Exam date 24-25/1/2026; registration date 5-15/12.
Phase 2: Exam date 14-15/3/2026; registration date 5-15/2/2026.
Phase 3: Exam date 16-17/5/2026; registration date 5-15/4/2026.
The exams will be held on weekends, each with 3-4 teams at 30 exam locations, serving about 60,000 exams.
There are 11 exam clusters including: Hanoi exam cluster (3 regions, 11 exam locations); Hai Phong exam cluster (2 exam locations); Hung Yen exam cluster (2 exam locations); Quang Ninh exam cluster (1 exam location); Ninh Binh exam cluster (3 exam locations); Thanh Hoa exam cluster (1 exam location); Nghe An exam cluster (1 exam location); Ha Tinh exam cluster (1 exam location); Thai Nguyen exam cluster (1 exam location); Tay Bac exam cluster (1 exam location); Da Nang exam cluster (1 exam location).
In 2026, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment test will remain stable in structure, including 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes).
These are 3 independent exams, the exam questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each exam, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject.
The test will be in the form of multiple choice tests on computers, and the results will be valid for 2 years for university admission purposes.
