133 young people attended the 1st Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities

The 1st Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association was organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Steering Committee for the establishment of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association in coordination with other units.

The congress was attended by 133 official delegates. Of these, 59 were female, 74 were male, 15 were ethnic minorities; 3 were religious followers. 18 were party members, 87 were union members. The average age of the congress was 32.5 years old. The youngest delegate was 16 years old – Mr. Ly A De, delegate from Lai Chau province.

In terms of professional qualifications, there are 5 delegates with master's degrees, 39 delegates with university degrees, 17 delegates with college degrees, 15 delegates with intermediate degrees, and 25 delegates with high school degrees.

Of the 133 delegates, 10 delegates are members of the Steering Committee for the establishment of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association; 73 delegates were selected by the Vietnam Youth Unions of provinces and cities; 38 delegates are examples of Shining Vietnamese Willpower Youth in 2024; 12 delegates were appointed.

The first session includes the following contents: Report on the situation of delegates attending the Congress; Summary report on the results of the activities of the Disabled Youth Club, the Steering Committee for the establishment of the Association and the direction of the Association's activities for the first term, 2024 - 2029 term; discussion and approval of the Charter of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association; consultation to elect the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association, term I, 2024 - 2029 term and consultation to elect the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association, term I, 2024 - 2029 term.

The solemn session of the Congress, including: Speech by the representative of the Organizing Committee for the establishment of the Association; discussion; speech by the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union/Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation; announcement of the results of consultation and introduction of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities, term I, 2024 - 2029; The President of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities delivered a speech accepting the assignment; approval of the Congress Resolution...

At the first session, the Congress consulted and elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association, Term I, consisting of 44 members; consulted and elected 5 members to participate in the Association's Inspection Committee.

Immediately after the first session of the Congress, the first Executive Committee Conference of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities, term I, 2024 - 2029 took place.

The conference elected 14 members to the Standing Committee of the Association, Term I; Mr. Pham Van Thanh was elected as President of the Vietnam Association of Disabled Youth, Term I. The conference also elected 4 Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Association of Disabled Youth, Term I.

After being elected to the Executive Committee, I hope that the Association's activities will grow, to help and pay closer attention to people with disabilities like me, so that they have the opportunity to rise up strongly, master themselves, and integrate into life. Participating in the congress, I feel small compared to the great determination of the other brothers and sisters attending the congress. Everyone has a will and determination that must be said to be extremely strong. I am truly very touched and impressed, I feel like I have stepped into a big world.”
