BTO - The Provincial Farmers' Support Center, in coordination with the Phan Thiet City Farmers' Association and the Southern Agricultural College branch in Ho Chi Minh City, organized a Class II Fishing Vessel Captain training course in Mui Ne ward.
During the training course, 30 participants were briefed on legal matters related to fishing vessels, such as the 2017 Fisheries Law and its implementing regulations, regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and addressing EC recommendations. These are important legal foundations that motivate fishermen to comply with regulations regarding the acquisition of professional certificates for fishing vessel crew members.
The course aims to help fishermen improve their seafaring skills and legal knowledge in the process of exploiting marine resources, contributing to increased efficiency in fishing operations; and to better ensure the safety of people and fishing vessels operating at sea.
