Following the success of its inaugural season (2022), the National University Basketball Championship (NUC) returned in 2023 and received significant attention and support from universities, colleges, and academies nationwide. With nearly 140 teams and over 1,600 athletes competing for the top spot (a 35% increase in the number of participating teams compared to the previous season), NUC 2023 continues to be the university sports competition with the most participating teams nationwide to date. This is a positive sign, demonstrating the development of student sports and the growing love for basketball.
The opening ceremony of the 2023 National University Basketball Tournament (NUC) - Region 3 took place on the morning of October 16th at the Ton Duc Thang University Gymnasium.
NUC is considered a healthy playground for students, with an attractive organization and a vibrant, distinctive cheering movement from many universities. The tournament receives comprehensive professional support, especially in refereeing, from the Vietnam Basketball Federation, the Ho Chi Minh City Basketball Federation, and the Hanoi Basketball Federation.
The Ton Duc Thang University women's team is the reigning champion of the 2022 national finals.
Region 3, comprising 60 teams (43 men's and 17 women's teams), will compete to find the 5 best representatives (3 men's and 2 women's teams) to compete in the national finals held in Hanoi in December.
