Agribank donates 10 billion VND to join hands "For the poor" and social security in Hanoi in 2025

On the evening of November 3, the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City jointly organized the Program "For the Poor" and Social Security of Hanoi City in 2025. At the program, Agribank donated 10 billion VND to support the "For the Poor" Fund and Social Security of the City, contributing to creating more resources with all levels and sectors to care for the lives of the poor and households in difficult circumstances in the Capital.

The program "For the poor" and social security of Hanoi City in 2025 is an event of Hanoi Capital responding to the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021-2025 launched by the Prime Minister, with the desire to promote the tradition of solidarity, mutual love and mutual assistance of the nation, create more resources, join hands with all levels and sectors to help the poor, contributing to the completion of the goal of poverty reduction and social security care of the City.

Speaking at the program, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Bui Huyen Mai affirmed that with the consistent viewpoint of "taking people as the center", Hanoi always identifies social security development and welfare improvement as the foundation for sustainable development.

In the period of 2022-2025, the City Party Committee issued Program No. 08 on "Developing the social security system, improving social welfare and quality of life of the Capital's people in the period of 2021-2025", the City People's Council issued Resolutions stipulating a number of specific policies to implement the goal of sustainable poverty reduction of Hanoi City, stipulating the social assistance standards and social protection objects of Hanoi City.

Hanoi has strived to have basically no poor households by the end of 2025. The Central and City's poverty reduction support policies have been implemented correctly, sufficiently and promptly.

At the program, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City also praised, acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit of responsibility, sharing, and noble gestures of organizations, banks, businesses, groups and individuals who supported the City Fund for the Poor and hoped that these noble gestures would spread, helping Hanoi City achieve its set goals.

Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Pham Tat Thang and Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh presented honors to units with many contributions to the City's social security work.

On the occasion of the peak month "For the poor" and social security in 2025, the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City call on agencies, organizations, businesses, and people of all walks of life in the capital to promote the tradition of solidarity and the good spirit of "Mutual love and support" of the nation, actively participate in supporting the City's "For the poor" Fund, join hands to build a civilized, modern, happy capital, leaving no one behind.

Responding to the call, as well as promoting the tradition of "Understanding the people's hearts, serving wholeheartedly", this year, Agribank continues to support 10 billion VND to the "For the poor" Fund and social security of Hanoi City with the desire to create more resources, together with all levels and sectors to help the poor, contributing to the completion of the poverty reduction and social security goals of the City.

Every year, Agribank spends hundreds of billions of VND to contribute to social security programs, focusing on essential areas such as: building houses for the poor, building schools, medical stations, rural clean water projects, supporting natural disaster recovery, awarding scholarships, giving Tet gifts, caring for the lives of the disadvantaged...

In the 2020-2025 period alone, Agribank has contributed more than VND 2,500 billion to social security work nationwide, with a series of typical programs such as: building thousands of Great Unity houses, gratitude houses for poor households, policy families in difficult localities, joining hands to "Eliminate temporary houses, dilapidated houses" nationwide, giving tens of thousands of Tet gifts, supporting hundreds of billions of VND for COVID-19 prevention and control work and sponsoring hundreds of social welfare projects from schools, hospitals, people's bridges, rural clean water systems to supporting the recovery of consequences of natural disasters and floods.
