No chance at MU

Last season, Alejandro Garnacho made a significant mark when participating in 21 goals for MU in all competitions (11 goals - a career record; and 10 assists)

However, conflicts with coach Ruben Amorim caused him to be eliminated from the main squad.

After losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final, Garnacho publicly criticized coach Ruben Amorim on both personal and tactical levels.

Amorim's reaction was drastic: he removed Garnacho from the squad and insisted that he needed to find a new destination if he wanted to continue developing his young career.

Since then, Garnacho has only trained privately at Carrington, isolated from the club's main activities.

Coach Amorim emphasized: "Garnacho is a talented player, but he has no future at MU" .

Garnacho was even eliminated from the summer tour, further damaging his image in the eyes of experts and fans.

The Portuguese strategist was even more harsh, when he declared that Garnacho "must pray" to find a team that really wants him.

When he first made his professional debut, the Madrid-born player received high expectations. MU saw him as an important asset for the new era.

As a teammate of Lionel Messi on the Argentina national team, a fan and often imitator of Cristiano Ronaldo's gestures, Garnacho should have learned from the two biggest stars of world football in the 21st century.

However, sometimes his attitude does not please the coaches. From Erik ten Hag to Ruben Amorim now, there have been times when they could not stand the 21-year-old's behavior.

From the start, Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave the green light for the coaches to be tough on Garnacho. However, the player still violated the rules, fighting back against Ten Hag and Amorim.

Chelsea or nothing

As the 2025 summer transfer window enters its final days, Garnacho's future has become a hot topic.

Despite being interested by many clubs such as Bayern Munich, Napoli and Saudi Arabian teams, Garnacho only wants to join Chelsea.

From the beginning, Garnacho determined to continue playing in the Premier League. Some sources said that he refused Bayern and affirmed: "Thank you, it's a great club, but I only want to go to Chelsea" .

Interest from Aston Villa also only received a shake of his head, while Chelsea had official contacts with MU .

However, the deal is stalled because Chelsea has not accepted the £50 million price requested by MU.

Furthermore, after spending a lot of money, Chelsea is being closely scrutinized by UEFA and the Premier League for its financial aspects. The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup champion needs to sell a series of players before being able to sign Garnacho.

MU hopes Tottenham can join the deal to put pressure on Chelsea. However, Garnacho's attitude is clear: only Chelsea.

If he cannot leave before the September 1 deadline, Garnacho will have to continue staying at MU at least until the winter transfer window.

That meant he couldn't compete at the highest level for half a year, only training "on the run" at Carrington when the first team members had left.

This scenario would only be detrimental to him. Not being able to play regularly would put Garnacho at risk of missing the 2026 World Cup.

Argentine football is currently full of talented young strikers. Lionel Scaloni has many options, so Garnacho's situation is really alarming.

Talented, yes, but his attitude and personal decisions over time have turned Garnacho into a flawed version of Messi and Ronaldo.

While hoping Chelsea can finalise the transfer, “ El Bichito” – based on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Spanish nickname “ El Bicho” – must get into the habit of working professionally.
