Warm, loving memories of teachers and school

On November 22, in Hanoi, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the writing contest "Deep memories of teachers and school" in 2024 (organized by the Ministryof Education and Training - GDĐT) took place.

Mr. Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Permanent Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest said that this contest is organized to recognize and honor teachers who have good jobs and achievements, and actively contribute to the cause of educational innovation; recognize and honor educational institutions with many innovations and creativity in teaching and learning; spread the good feelings of students, parents towards teachers and schools.

In 2024, the writing contest "Deep memories of teachers and school" was launched, accepting entries from September 2024. After 2 months of launching, the Contest has received the response and participation of many authors across the country and many quality works. The Organizing Committee has received more than 85,000 entries. The number of entries shows that the contest has been vibrant and spread strongly in schools. At the same time, it also shows the interest and support of a large number of readers and people of all walks of life about the meaning of the contest. Some localities and educational institutions have proactively organized contests at the School/Department/Department level; organized marking and selected quality entries to send to the Organizing Committee of the contest. Many educational institutions have the full participation of teachers and students in the whole Industry, typically the Departments of Education and Training: Bac Giang, Quang Tri, Hanoi , Lao Cai, Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa, Son La...

From more than 85,000 works submitted to the Organizing Committee, the Preliminary Jury selected 46 works for the final round. At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 First Prize works, 4 Second Prize works, 6 Third Prize works, 10 Encouragement Prize works, 4 additional prizes to 2 outstanding characters and 2 groups with many entries of good quality.

Ms. Dang Hoang Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, Deputy Head of the Final Jury of the contest, said that after many years of organization, since the first time in 2018, the contest has created a positive impact and influence in schools in particular and society in general. The contest has attracted millions of teachers, students and people outside the education sector from all over the country to participate. The authors are students who are still in school or have grown up, have careers and jobs that help life; teachers who are still teaching or have retired... The memories they bring to the contest are emotions imbued with humanity and precious teacher-student relationships.

Ms. Hoang Anh shared that each work is a nuance of emotion, a profound memory, a mark of a student's life associated with the beautiful emotions of the teacher-student relationship, making the reader seem to live in the author's time and space of memories. According to her, all have portrayed a colorful picture of teachers - talented, dedicated and devoted to their students, to their beloved school; students who strive to overcome difficulties with the guidance of teachers, the love of friends to grow up. The contest has created an increasingly stronger emotional connection between teachers and students, between schools and students; strengthening the close relationship between schools, families and society to join hands in educating future generations.

The two first prize winning works of the contest were awarded to the work “Drum Keys” by Vo Thi Be, a teacher at Vinh Dinh High School (Quang Tri province) and the work “Alluvial Sediment” by Nguyen Binh An, a teacher at Chau Phong High School ( An Giang province).
