On September 9th, in Hanoi, Sound Healing World Joint Stock Company met with several organizations and partners to introduce and share information about its project on music and sound for mental health care and to launch the "Sound Healing Concert" series – bringing music to help relax and balance physical and mental health in today's stressful and pressure-filled society.
Insomnia might seem like just a minor inconvenience stemming from a life filled with worries, but it's actually a major cause of many mental and physical health problems. As life becomes more hectic and fast-paced, sleep becomes an increasing concern for many people, regardless of age or gender.
Himalayan singing bowl sound therapy, which uses handcrafted tools—singing bowls originating from the Himalayan region, the "roof of the world"—to create sounds and vibrations that help the brain and body achieve a state of relaxation, appeared in Vietnam about 10 years ago. After persistent practice by sound therapy practitioners, this field has made significant progress in Vietnam. OM Himalayas is a pioneer in bringing Himalayan singing bowl therapy to many provinces and cities, and has established centers applying this therapy in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Asian countries such as Nepal, India, China, Taiwan (China), Singapore, and Thailand, this method is becoming increasingly popular. In many other countries, including Germany, Austria, the United States, and Canada, it is also applied and practiced as a "sleep remedy."
OM Himalayas founder Nguyen Manh Duy said that more than 20 programs titled "Journey of Silence," launched since May 2023, have spread widely, offering sound and music experiences as a precious remedy for health.
Building on that foundation, Sound Healing World decided to develop the “Sound Healing Concert” on a professional scale. The first in this series of projects was the successful holding of the Sound Healing Concert 2025 on September 6th and 7th in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring the legendary meditative singer Ani Choying Drolma.
According to Associate Professor Nguyen Duc Minh, Director of Ha Dong Traditional Medicine Hospital, in traditional medicine, the human being is viewed as a unified whole of body, mind, and spirit. When the mind is restless, the qi and blood are disordered, and illness arises. Conversely, when the mind is at peace, the body is also healthy. And sound in traditional medicine is considered an invisible but effective medicine. For millennia, our ancestors have used the five tones in ancient musical theory to harmonize the body and mind, closely linked to the principles of yin and yang, the five elements, and the five internal organs. Each sound is not only for enjoyment but also a resonant therapy that helps harmonize the five internal organs and emotions.

Sound not only enters the ears but also affects the entire body: the nervous system (relieving stress, regulating heart rate and breathing); the blood (improving circulation, reducing muscle stiffness, and bringing the body into a relaxed state); and the mind (guiding the mind from agitation to tranquility, similar to meditation).
Associate Professor Nguyen Duc Minh stated that Ha Dong Traditional Medicine Hospital is gradually applying sound therapy. This involves combining acupuncture, massage, and acupressure with music therapy to enhance pain relief and sedation; using meditation music, bells, drums, and flowing water sounds to support the treatment of sleep disorders, stress, and depression; and guiding patients to breathe in rhythm with the sounds to improve blood circulation and balance yin and yang. As a result, patients relax more easily, sleep more soundly, and have a more optimistic outlook.
