US Open Women's Singles Final Schedule
Aryna Sabalenka - Amanda Anisimova (3:00 p.m., September 7)
Just two months after making waves at Wimbledon, Amanda Anisimova once again proved her mettle by coming from behind to defeat four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 6-3. The dramatic victory, which lasted nearly three hours, put the American into her second Grand Slam final of the season and made her the first player to beat Osaka in the semi-finals of a major tournament.

“Naomi played fantastic tennis. She got back to where she was, and I told her how proud I was. After having a baby and still playing at this level is crazy. She actually gave me a chance to get to the final, I wasn't sure I could cross the line," Anisimova said after the match.
Anisimova continued to express her emotions: “This tournament means a lot to me, and I think that really affected me. In the end, I tried to fight as hard as I could and enjoy the moment. We both played great tennis, and sometimes I asked myself: ‘How can we hit shots like that?’, but we did it and we just kept going.”
Anisimova will face world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final on September 7. It will be a rematch of the Wimbledon semifinal where the 24-year-old shocked the world earlier this summer. Anisimova will be the third American woman to face Sabalenka in a Grand Slam final this season, following Madison Keys at the Australian Open and Coco Gauff at Roland Garros.
Anisimova's run to the finals at both Wimbledon and the US Open marked the first time since 2002 that at least one American woman has appeared in all four major finals in the same calendar year.

Anisimova is currently 6-3 against Sabalenka at the WTA level, including wins in their most recent meeting (Wimbledon semi-finals) and on hard court (Toronto 2024). A seventh win over Sabalenka would earn Anisimova her first Grand Slam title.
“This is a dream come true. It's been a dream of mine for a long time to be in the US Open final. Obviously, I hope to be the champion. Now that I'm in the final, I'll try to prepare for the next match. I'm very excited, it's really special," Anisimova said.
