According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at noon on September 18, the tropical depression strengthened into storm - storm number 8 with the international name Mitag.

At 1 p.m., the center of the storm was at approximately 19.9 degrees North latitude; 118.4 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting to level 10. Moving northwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h.

As of 1 p.m. on September 19, the storm was in the southern coastal area of ​​Guangdong province (China) with strong winds of level 9, gusts of level 11; moving northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h and continuing to strengthen. The affected area is the northeastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea. Disaster risk level 3.

At 1 p.m. on September 20, the storm was on land in the southern province of Guangdong (China) with strong winds of level 7, gusts of level 10; moving west-northwest at a speed of about 10km/h, entering the mainland and weakening into a tropical depression.

The affected area is the northern sea area of ​​the North East Sea. Disaster risk level 3.

At 1 p.m. on September 21, the tropical depression on the mainland southwest of Guangdong province (China); moving west at a speed of about 10 km/h and gradually weakening into a low pressure area. Wind force below level 6.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression/storm, the northeastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea has strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 9; the area near the storm's center has strong winds of level 8-9, gusting to level 11, waves 3-5m high, very rough seas.

Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and big waves./.
