According to sources, Apple will make a drastic change in software interface design this year. In addition, WWDC 2025 will likely witness the launch of new hardware and notable updates to Siri - the AI virtual assistant that was delayed since last year.
At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced Apple Intelligence with a series of advanced AI features for Siri. These upgrades include the ability to recognize on-screen content, perform actions based on the display context, integrate deeper with apps, and improve personalized understanding when assisting users. However, to date, these improvements have not been widely deployed.
“We are taking longer than expected to roll out these features and hope to launch them next year,” said Apple spokeswoman Jacqueline Roy.
According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Siri with advanced conversational capabilities will probably only appear on iOS 20 at the earliest. In addition, Apple has also restructured its AI development team, replacing John Giannandrea with Mike Rockwell - who led the Vision Pro project.

In addition to Siri, WWDC 2025 is also expected to provide details on iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and the next generation of macOS. According to Gurman, macOS this year could have a major design change, with new icons, menus, and buttons to better synchronize across Apple devices.
On the hardware side, Apple regularly announces new products at WWDC. In recent years, the event has seen the launch of the Apple Vision Pro, the M2 chip, and new Macs in 2023.
In 2025, Apple will introduce the iPad Air, MacBook Air, new Mac Studio, and iPhone 16E. According to Gurman, Apple may introduce a new generation Mac Pro and AirTag 2 in the middle of this year.
This year's event could shape Apple's AI strategy going forward, delivering a more unified and intelligent ecosystem across its devices.
