Apple confirmed that John Giannandrea, its chief AI officer, will retire in spring 2026. Before leaving his position, he remained an advisor to Apple during the transition period.
His successor is Amar Subramanya, a former AI expert at Microsoft and Google. Subramanya will report directly to Craig Federighi, Apple's head of engineering, and be in charge of AI platform models.
Subramanya spent 16 years at Google, leading engineering for Google Assistant. The AI and search infrastructure teams will be transferred to Sabih Khan and Eddy Cue. CEO Tim Cook thanked Giannandrea and said he expects Siri to become more personalized next year.
Giannandrea's departure comes after several struggles with Siri, marking a major shift for Apple. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Iris scanning tool to verify human | VTV24
