In Nghe An province, three ninth-grade female students in Thanh Chuong district took their friend to a deserted road, beat her, stripped off her clothes, and filmed the incident .
On September 30th, Mr. Tran Xuan Ha, Head of the Education and Training Department of Thanh Chuong district, stated that the victim was a student from Thanh My Secondary School, while the three students who assaulted their classmate and filmed the incident were from Phong Thinh, Cat Van, and Thanh Tien Secondary Schools.
"The district police have worked with those involved. After the results are available, the schools will base their actions on the severity of the violations to handle and educate the public accordingly," Mr. Ha said.
According to authorities, on September 27, a 9th-grade female student from Thanh My Secondary School was taken by three other students from a different school on a motorbike to a deserted road leading into an acacia forest in Thanh Duc commune, Thanh Chuong district. The group then grabbed her hair and slapped her in the face. Despite the victim crying and begging, "Please, let me go," the three girls did not stop; one even filmed the incident and threatened to post it online.
On September 29th, a three-minute video of the fight went viral on social media. Authorities determined the initial cause stemmed from a prior conflict and challenge between the two female students online.

School fights are becoming increasingly common right after the start of the school year. On September 9th, a 9th-grade female student in Vinh City, Nghe An province, was hit on the head by a classmate, and the incident was filmed on the street. In Hanoi, a 9th-grade male student was beaten by three adults at a game arcade and had to be hospitalized. Incidents of female students beating and stripping their classmates, with videos of the attacks being uploaded online, have also occurred in Hau Giang, Quang Tri, Gia Lai, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Prior to the start of the new school year, the Ministry of Education and Training acknowledged that school violence is one of the persistent problems in the sector. The Ministry estimated that nearly 7,100 students were involved in school violence in 2022.
According to current regulations of the Ministry, disciplinary action against students who violate rules includes three forms: warning, reprimand, and temporary suspension from school. In known cases, most students received warnings or suspensions for 1-3 weeks; only one 16-year-old female student in Ha Tinh was prosecuted for the crime of humiliating another person last September.
