Bac Lieu: Offering incense to commemorate Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of National Day

On September 2, at Uncle Ho's temple, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Vinh Loi district ( Bac Lieu province) respectfully held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of National Day and 55 years of implementing his Testament.

Uncle Ho Temple in Chau Thoi Commune (Vinh Loi District) is one of the temples built early (completed in 1972) in the West after President Ho Chi Minh passed away.

In addition to leaders of departments and branches, many local people attended the ceremony. There was a group of more than 10 people from Dam Doi district ( Ca Mau province), about 100km from the temple, also came here to burn incense to commemorate Uncle Ho.

Mr. Truong Thanh Nha, Secretary of Vinh Loi District Party Committee, said that in recent times, with the great efforts and determination of the Party Committee, government and people, all aspects of economy, society, life, culture, education,... have been stable and developed well.

"The achievements of the Party Committee and people of Vinh Loi district are the result of studying, training, and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Uncle Ho through concrete actions," Mr. Nha expressed.

The Secretary of the Vinh Loi District Party Committee affirmed that the Party Committee and people of Vinh Loi always deeply acknowledge and are grateful to the heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, families with meritorious services to the nation, veteran revolutionary cadres, etc., who fought and sacrificed for the Fatherland and their homeland.

"In particular, with the respect and affection of the Party Committee and people of Vinh Loi district for beloved Uncle Ho, every citizen in the district always strives to study and follow his thoughts, ethics, and style, considering it a lifelong endeavor and doing so through concrete and practical actions," the Secretary of Vinh Loi District emphasized.

At the ceremony, 3 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style were commended by the district.

On behalf of the collectives and individuals receiving the commendation, Mr. Ngo Quoc Quan, Deputy Secretary of Vinh Loi District Youth Union, promised to try to maintain the movement of studying and following Uncle Ho with many good models and effective methods to bring results to the agency, unit and each individual's field of work, contributing with the district to successfully complete the task.

In 1998, the temple was ranked as a national historical relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). This is also a typical tourist destination in the Mekong Delta region.
