Bac Ninh: Private enterprises master technology for development

Bac Ninh province has determined to take the application of science and technology as the foundation, digital transformation as the driving force, creating conditions for private enterprises to rise up to master technology.

Participate in the global supply chain

Bac Ninh has implemented many specific action programs to promote technological innovation, improve management capacity and encourage creativity in the private business sector. The province has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the Ministry of Science and Technology and corporations such as Samsung, Canon, Foxconn... to implement projects to support domestic enterprises in improving processes, standardizing management and gradually participating in the global supply chain. The government directly "activates" linkages, accompanies enterprises through each specific project, creating a healthy competitive environment and the aspiration to master technology.

A series of private enterprises have demonstrated a strong transformation thanks to the application of science and technology. Innotek Joint Stock Company (Que Vo II Industrial Park) invested in a smart factory model, equipped with Yaskawa welding robot system, SEYI stamping machine, CNC lathe, synchronous automation line... increasing productivity, high precision, digitalized management process helping the enterprise become a partner of many large companies in the field of automobiles, motorbikes and precision mechanics. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan, General Director of the Company shared: "Innovation not only helps optimize production efficiency but also changes management thinking, is identified as the "golden key" in digital transformation, creating a step forward in competitiveness.

In Tu Son, Thanh Dong Limited Liability Company innovated copper refining equipment, applied advanced pressing and drawing technology, and became a supplier for many FDI enterprises such as Foxconn, Luxshare, Powertech, Seojin... and demonstrated strong resilience when investing in technology. Hung Thao Mechanical Limited Liability Company (Ngoc Thien commune) with its environmentally friendly wheelbarrow products not only meets the domestic market but also participates in export. In response to the increasing demands of partners and customers, in recent years, the company has continued to invest in research and application of welding robots, automatic welding machines, automatic cutting machines, electrostatic painting systems... into the production process to help reduce 50% of production time and increase output to 200,000 products/year.

From the awareness that "Technological innovation must start with human innovation", Bac Ninh has implemented support for training engineers and technicians to serve the semiconductor and electronics industries, key fields of the 4.0 era. Along with that are policies to encourage businesses to participate in vocational training, cooperate with universities and research centers to form a closed "training - research - production" network. At the same time, it focuses on training private business management teams in the direction of digitalization. The Kaizen model of continuous improvement and training courses on digital transformation and e-commerce have been deployed for thousands of businesses. Thanks to that, many small production facilities have built websites, participated in e-commerce platforms, promoted their brands, reduced traditional marketing costs and expanded their international customer base.

Connect and share to grow together

A unique feature in Bac Ninh's management is the "connect and share" policy - linking private enterprises and FDI enterprises for mutual development. The province promotes the establishment of business associations by industry group, builds an ecosystem of supporting industries, and encourages domestic enterprises to learn international processes and standards from large corporations.

At investment promotion forums and meetings with businesses, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized: "Without strong businesses, there cannot be an autonomous economy. To reach out to the world, Vietnamese businesses must master technology, make breakthroughs in management and pioneer in digital transformation." This is an orientational direction, a commitment of the government to always listen and remove difficulties in land, procedures, infrastructure and environment for businesses to develop sustainably.

In the context of green economy and zero net emissions becoming a global trend, Bac Ninh is determined to selectively attract investment, prioritizing high-tech, environmentally friendly projects, and employing highly skilled labor. The province implements a green transformation program in industrial parks, encourages energy-saving production, develops a circular economy and industrial symbiosis. Private enterprises are supported to apply the ISO environmental management system, participate in renewable energy projects, and contribute to building the brand "Bac Ninh - a destination for clean industry".

Along with that, trade promotion activities, international fairs, and supply-demand connection programs are held regularly, helping private enterprises promote products, find partners, and integrate more deeply into the global supply chain.

From a long-term vision, Bac Ninh aims to develop high-tech industries, green industries, and digital technology industries by 2030, prioritizing the formation and development of new industries, making Bac Ninh a center for semiconductor manufacturing, supporting industries, and artificial intelligence in the North, in which the private economic sector plays an important role in the innovation ecosystem.

Science, technology and digital transformation are identified as the "red thread" throughout the direction and management of economic development. This is also the key for Bac Ninh to turn its geographical, infrastructure and human advantages into technological competitiveness - a solid foundation to help private enterprises confidently step into the world market./.
