Starting July 16th, users have been able to download the public beta for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and watchOS 11 to try them out. This version will bring new and important updates to how the software on Apple's iPhones works. Notable features include: support for RCS messaging; allowing users to arrange icons anywhere on the home screen; changing the color of icons and widgets; and more.
On the other hand, Apple is very accommodating to users as this beta comes with new layouts such as: a redesigned Photos app, Control Center, and additional icons in Dark Mode,... These changes will also be updated similarly on iPadOS.
However, to experience Apple Intelligence, users will likely have to wait a little longer. This feature is expected to be released by Apple in the next software beta versions this fall. However, Apple has not yet announced Apple Intelligence for any other platforms, including the Apple Watch, and it is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Macs, and iPads M1 and later. Therefore, Apple enthusiasts may want to consider updating their software when the official version is released.
The Sequoia public beta also allows users to mirror their iPhone to a computer screen, along with several other features in macOS. As for watchOS 11, it introduces new features such as rest day and Apple's Vitals app for quickly viewing users' overnight health metrics.
Additionally, Apple notes that users can roll back to previous versions of the iOS 18 beta, but this is not possible with WatchOS. Therefore, Apple users should carefully consider before trying this update or wait for the official release in the fall of this year.
