EURO 2024 qualifying scoring chart: Man Utd's mark

However, Erik ten Hag's players shone brightly when returning to their national teams. The list of top scorers in the EURO 2024 qualifiers reflects this.

Rasmus Hojlund failed to score in the Premier League but netted 7 goals in the EURO 2024 qualifiers. Scott McTominay also scored 7 goals for Scotland and is among the top 10 goalscorers.

Another Man Utd star, Bruno Fernandes, has scored 6 goals for the Portuguese national team, a feat equal to that of Erling Haaland of Norway, currently considered the best striker in the world .

Not only that, Bruno Fernandes was also the "assist king" in the EURO 2024 qualifiers with 7 assists leading to goals for his teammates.

If all three of those stars had performed impressively at club level, Man Utd would probably have achieved a better ranking in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Besides the three players mentioned above, the list of the top 10 goalscorers in the EURO 2024 qualifiers also includes two former Manchester United strikers. Thus, the Old Trafford club has a presence in half of the individual goalscoring rankings.

The top scorer in the EURO 2024 qualifiers is Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker scored 14 goals, including 4 in the first half of the final match against Azerbaijan. According to UEFA statistics, with 14 goals, Lukaku is the best goalscorer in the history of a EURO qualifying round.

Following Lukaku is another former "Red Devil," Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar set a record by becoming the oldest player to reach 10 goals in EURO qualifiers (at 38 years old).

This will most likely be Ronaldo's last EURO qualifying tournament of his career. By the time the next one takes place, the striker will be 42 years old (in 2027). Third place goes to Kylian Mbappe (France - 9 goals) and Harry Kane (England - 8 goals).
