After stepping onto the highest podium, Mong Tuyen shared: “I am happy but also very nervous to have won the first gold medal for Vietnamese shooting. To be honest, I was very shaky standing in the shooting range, but seeing everyone cheering so enthusiastically from the outside gave me more determination.”
"When we were trailing and almost lost the gold medal, we couldn't help but feel nervous. But I knew that everyone always believed in us, so we told ourselves we had to be even more determined."
"Especially for the final, decisive shot, before pulling the trigger, I whispered to myself that I had to succeed, I had to win," Mong Tuyen further shared.
The 10m air rifle mixed team event was the first event for the Vietnamese shooting team at the 33rd SEA Games. We won a gold medal in the very first event. This is a positive sign and an important milestone for the entire team.

Mong Tuyen said about this: “Even from the qualifying round, we were nervous because this was the team's first event, the first rifle event. However, we only had one desire: to surpass ourselves and complete the assigned task.”
"I can confidently say that without the encouragement and support of the Vietnamese people here watching us play, we probably wouldn't have had the spirit to turn the tide after falling behind."
"This will motivate me to prepare for the next events (women's 10m air rifle, women's 50m air rifle), maintain my personal best, and bring home the best results for Vietnamese shooting," female shooter Mong Tuyen affirmed.
Compared to Mong Tuyen, Tam Quang spoke less. Nevertheless, he couldn't hide his emotions after his teammate's lucky opening win for Vietnamese shooting: "I am very moved by this gold medal. Honestly, I don't know what to say much about my achievement, I only know that I was nervous but focused from start to finish."
