Data security is key to a thriving digital economy

At the Vietnam Security Summit 2023, Mr. Li Hai, Director of Security, Government Relations and Communications Department of Huawei Asia- Pacific, gave a speech on the topic "Data Security for a Prosperous Digital Economy".

Vietnam Security Summit 2023 is the largest annual event in the field of information security, chaired by the Ministry of Information and Communications and organized by the Department of Information Security, which recently took place in Ho Chi Minh City.

“In the context of digital transformation, in addition to promoting the development and application of telecommunications technologies and scientific solutions in many industries and fields, data security and information security are also key factors to create a prosperous digital economy . This is not only a problem for each enterprise, but also a common problem for the country,” Mr. Li Hai emphasized: “As a key member and active partner of a series of prestigious organizations on cybersecurity, Huawei will accompany the Government and Vietnamese enterprises, exchange and share comprehensive cybersecurity solutions, supporting the digital transformation process to take place in the safest and most effective way.”

At the seminar, Mr. Li Hai also made recommendations on ICT policies being implemented by governments. In particular, the Government should direct the development of national data and cybersecurity strategies, regulations on data storage, protection of data sovereignty and national cyberspace. According to Mr. Li Hai, the Government also plays a key role in accelerating the process of cloudification, digital transformation of ministries and digital activities, and promoting faster digital transformation in various industries.
