On November 10, the program " Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper Scholarship" awarded the remaining 90 scholarships (VND 1 million/scholarship) out of a total of 100 scholarships to poor students overcoming difficulties at Huong Hoa High School, Khe Sanh Commune, Quang Tri Province.

From early morning, students gathered in large numbers at Huong Hoa High School's yard to attend the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week. After a long period of heavy rain, the sun began to spread its golden light over the school yard. The flag-raising ceremony became more meaningful when the " Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper Scholarship" program was present, supporting poor students to overcome difficulties.

Mr. Le Chi Thong, Principal of Huong Hoa High School, awarded scholarships from the "Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper Scholarship" program to students in difficult circumstances.

Ho Thi Phuong Di (class 12A3, Huong Hoa High School) is one of the students receiving the scholarship. Di is a Van Kieu ethnic, living in Lia commune, more than 20 km from the school.

Her family has 3 siblings of school age. Her parents work on the farm all year round, so life is always short of money. To pursue her dream of studying, Di accepted to live far from home and rent a room near the school to make it easier for her to study.

Receiving the scholarship from the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , Di shared that she and many other students were very moved. "This scholarship is very meaningful to me, helping me have more money to buy school supplies and materials to review for the final exam. I would like to thank the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for sharing and supporting students in mountainous areas with many difficulties like us" - Di confided.

Mr. Le Chi Thong, Principal of Huong Hoa High School, said the school has a total of 1,259 students, of which 142 are ethnic minorities.

"Some of the students at the school go to class in the morning and come back at noon to help their parents with the farming; some have to stay in rented houses and live frugally to pursue their dreams of education. And despite the difficulties, they still persevere in going to class and studying hard," affirmed teacher Le Chi Thong.

Therefore, according to Mr. Thong, the scholarships from the Lao Dong Newspaper are a great source of encouragement, not only helping students overcome difficulties but also giving them more motivation to strive and excel in their studies.

Previously, on October 16, within the framework of the gift-giving program for poor students organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association in coordination with the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, journalist Le Cao Cuong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , presented a symbolic board of 100 scholarships (100 million VND) from the " Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper Scholarship" program to Huong Hoa High School; directly awarded scholarships to 10 poor students of this school.
