Speaking at the opening of the conference, Colonel Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, reported on the results of emulation and reward work in 2025 and launched the Emulation Movement for Victory in 2026.

The report stated that in 2025, the People's Army Newspaper launched and implemented the Emulation Movement for Victory with the theme: "Democracy, solidarity, discipline, creativity, determination to win". The emulation movement took place enthusiastically, with many new features and outstanding activities, concretized by peak emulation periods to celebrate major events and holidays of the country.

The political qualities and professional qualifications of the cadres, reporters and editors of the People's Army Newspaper have been constantly improved, and propaganda methods have been increasingly innovated, contributing to helping the newspaper maintain its prestige with readers at home and abroad.

During the year, the People's Army Newspaper won many major awards such as: National Press Award, Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, Dien Hong Award, awards from central and local departments, ministries and branches, and was highly appreciated by readers and leaders of the Party, State and Army.

The work of building a comprehensively strong and exemplary editorial office is increasingly practical and goes into depth. Summarizing the 2025 Emulation Movement, the People's Army Newspaper was proposed to be awarded the "Emulation Flag of the General Department of Politics". The newspaper has 4 collectives awarded the title "Victory Unit" by the General Department of Politics, 25 individuals achieved the title "Grassroots-level Emulation Fighter".

Colonel Tran Anh Tuan stated: 2026 is the year the entire Party, people and army will promote emulation to welcome the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly , People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term and many other important events.

Therefore, the Emulation Movement for Victory needs to be pushed to a new level. Responding to the emulation movement of the entire army launched by the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the Emulation and Reward Council of the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Committee, the Editorial Board and the Emulation and Reward Council of the People's Army Newspaper launched the Emulation Movement for Victory in 2026 with the theme "Solidarity, discipline, breakthrough, creativity, determination to win", with the guiding ideology being: Strengthening solidarity, maintaining discipline, determination to break through, innovate, and excellently completing tasks.

The political and ideological situation in the editorial office is stable, internal solidarity and unity; discipline and order are strengthened, security work is getting better and better, the unit is absolutely safe in all aspects.

Regarding the results of implementing political tasks, in 2025, the People's Army Newspaper proactively organized propaganda on current, political, world and domestic issues, timely, outstanding, of high quality, in line with the direction, purpose and objectives, with diverse forms of expression in publications, creating high propaganda effects, good public opinion orientation, widespread dissemination, including some outstanding propaganda contents.

Organize series of articles and lines of propaganda articles to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the 11th National Party Congress of the Army, the Resolution of the Central Military Commission on leading the implementation of military and defense tasks and building the Army Party Committee in 2025; Directive on Party work and political work in 2025 of the Director of the General Department of Politics.

Deeply promote Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th Party Congress. Organize a special 100-page issue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; and the 80th anniversary of National Day with good content and beautiful presentation.

In 2025, promoted the effective implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation". Organized the summary and awarding of the 4th Writing Contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" (2024-2025), launched the 5th Contest (2025-2026). Summarized and awarded the 16th Writing Contest "Simple but noble examples" and launched the 17th Contest.

During the year, a new column was opened: "Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam" and the writing contest "Steadfast steps under the Party flag" to promote the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Newspaper distribution was carried out correctly, sufficiently, on time, and with stable printing quality.

The People's Army Newspaper has coordinated with the functional agencies of the General Department of Politics, the General Staff and the Ministry of National Defense to organize the development and approval of the Russian-language People's Army Electronic Newspaper Project. On the morning of August 21, the People's Army Newspaper organized the launch of the Russian-language People's Army Electronic Newspaper.

In 2025, the People's Army Electronic Newspaper continued to develop, maintaining a stable ranking, and the number of readers and viewers on the Newspaper's social media platforms increased. During the year, the editorial office and dozens of groups and individuals were commended and won many press awards from the Central, ministries, branches and localities.

Regarding the core tasks, 2026 will see many important holidays, anniversaries, and political events of the country. Therefore, the People's Army Newspaper will focus on promoting the activities: the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly; the 80th anniversary of the National Resistance Day; and the 40th anniversary of implementing the renovation policy.

Strengthening propaganda on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting to defeat the "peaceful evolution" strategy of hostile forces; preventing the risk of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and implementing the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers"; innovating and improving the quality of the 5th contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation, the 17th writing contest "Simple but noble examples".

Focus on innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of propaganda of publications, special pages and columns. Focus on organizing in-depth series of articles on each field, remote areas, training activities, combat readiness, natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue. Organize the publication of special issues to propagate major political events and anniversaries in the People's Army Newspaper every day.

Effectively implement the Project "Building the People's Army Newspaper into a key, multimedia media agency by 2030, with a vision to 2045" according to Decision No. 5945/QD-BQP dated November 18, 2023 of the Minister of National Defense, focusing on building the organizational structure, modernizing technology and construction works identified in the project. Improve the capacity of staff, command and control, maintain strict journalism discipline of departments, offices, editorial secretaries and editors of the People's Army Electronic Newspaper. Actively and proactively seek media support sources, increase print newspaper circulation, and create additional revenue for the editorial office.
