The Dai Ngai Bridge construction project is located on National Highway 60, spanning 15 km. Its starting point intersects with National Highway 54 in Hung Hoa commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province; its end point intersects with the Nam Song Hau National Highway in Long Duc commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang province. The total investment for the project is 7,962 billion VND, funded by the state budget, and includes two main bridges: Dai Ngai Bridge 1 and Dai Ngai Bridge 2. The project is managed by Project Management Board 85.
Representatives perform the ceremony to officially launch the construction of Dai Ngai 1 bridge.
The Dai Ngai 1 bridge and its approach roads have a total construction value of over 3,900 billion VND. The main bridge section is nearly 2.6 km long and 21.5 m wide, spanning the Dinh An channel of the Hau River. The main bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge with two A-shaped towers, each 110 m high (measured from the bridge deck). It is expected to be completed in June 2028.
Upon completion, the Dai Ngai Bridge, along with the Rach Mieu Bridge, Ham Luong Bridge, and Co Chien Bridge, will enhance transportation capacity for the Mekong Delta region, creating convenient traffic connections between the southern coastal provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, shortening travel time, reducing transportation costs, and expanding trade. According to calculations, this route will shorten the distance by approximately 80km compared to National Highway 1A when traveling from Ca Mau, Soc Trang , and Bac Lieu to Ho Chi Minh City.
