On the morning of July 7, the Command of Naval Region 4 said that the Nam Yet Island Infirmary, Truong Sa Special Zone, Khanh Hoa Province received and treated a fisherman who suffered a stroke while fishing in Truong Sa waters.

The patient is Mr. Doan Tinh, born in 1968, permanent resident of Quang Ngai , a crew member of fishing boat QNg905947-TS.

Previously, at around 6:00 a.m. on July 6, while fishing in the Truong Sa sea area, Mr. Tinh suddenly became dizzy, collapsed, and became paralyzed on the left side of his body, with a severe headache, difficulty speaking, and loss of bladder control.

As soon as the incident was discovered, the crew took Mr. Tinh to Tien Nu Island for first aid. Realizing that Mr. Tinh's condition was quite serious, at noon that same day, the Tien Nu Island military medics immediately completed the procedures to transfer him to the Nam Yet Island Infirmary.

Here, the medical team of Nam Yet Island Infirmary coordinated remote consultation with Military Hospital 103 (Hanoi) and Military Hospital 175 (Ho Chi Minh City).

Diagnosis results confirmed that the patient had a stroke due to cerebral infarction at 25 hours, left hemiplegia, accompanied by hypertension and lipid metabolism disorder.

Doctors quickly performed emergency measures, controlled blood pressure, stabilized the nervous system and closely monitored the cardiovascular condition. However, due to the severe progression of the disease, doctors assessed that the patient needed to be transferred to a higher level for intensive treatment when possible by specialized means.

Since the beginning of the year, military medical forces on the islands of the Truong Sa special zone have received and treated dozens of fishermen who suddenly fell ill or had work accidents while fishing.

Most recently, on the evening of July 1, Son Ca Island Infirmary promptly provided emergency care to fisherman Dinh Luat (born in 1993, from the old Binh Thuan province), a crew member of fishing boat BT 97669-TS, who had chickenpox in the full-blown stage.

Previously, Sinh Ton Dong Island Infirmary also successfully treated fisherman Dang Van Tang (born in 1996, residing in Lam Dong province), a crew member of fishing boat BTh 96994-TS, who was injured by a fish stabbing him in the neck./.
