Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee: Do not let people go hungry or cold due to floods

On October 28, comrade Le Ngoc Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, directly inspected and directed the work of preventing and responding to the complicated developments of floods in the wards of Hoi An Tay, Hoi An Dong and Hoi An, Da Nang city.

At the severely flooded areas, the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee asked and encouraged people about the situation of responding to the floods in the past few days. At the same time, he requested local authorities and functional forces to prioritize the task of protecting people's lives.

Comrade Le Ngoc Quang requested local Party committees, authorities, and functional forces to urgently and thoroughly evacuate people, especially the elderly, children, and tourists staying in dangerous, deeply flooded areas to safe shelters. The evacuation must be carried out quickly, decisively, and with the thoughtful support of functional forces.

"Absolutely do not let any unfortunate incidents happen due to subjectivity or delay. We must ensure maximum safety for the people, and not let anyone get stuck or in danger," the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee directed.

The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee also requested functional units to review and ensure adequate essential supplies, including food, clean water, medicine, and other necessary items to provide timely supplies to people in isolated and deeply flooded areas. Medical care must be given top priority during peak flood days. Medical facilities need to increase human resources, medicine, and prepare first aid plans to handle epidemic situations arising after floods. Under all circumstances, people must not be allowed to go hungry, cold, or lack medical care. This is the political and humanitarian responsibility of the entire system.

The City Party Secretary praised the sense of responsibility of the Police, Army, and functional units that quickly arrived at the hot spot. He requested that these forces always be at the highest state of readiness, arrange human resources and vehicles at key locations to promptly handle bad situations, rescue when necessary. Local forces need to promote the "four on-the-spot" spirit, proactively support people to the maximum, and maintain security and order during floods. The city government is committed to doing its best to minimize damage, stabilize life and overcome the consequences of floods as soon as the weather stabilizes.

Inspecting the erosion situation at An Bang and Cua Dai beaches, the Secretary of Da Nang requested the city's functional agencies to continue researching fundamental and long-term solutions in terms of construction to ensure the safety of people's assets, production and business.
