"Xuong Ly lagoon fishing festival" is an important annual cultural event of fishermen in Nhon Ly commune, which has existed for nearly 200 years.

The Xuong Ly Van Dam Fishing Festival takes place according to traditional rituals: Nam Hai God welcoming ceremony, provincial birth ceremony, national peace and prosperity, safe fishing for fishermen, and a good seafood harvest...

This festival was born in parallel with the formation of Truong Lang (the first Vietnamese mausoleum established in Quy Nhon at the beginning of the Nguyen Dynasty).

The festival is a memoir of the daily activities of fishermen at sea, from fishing to the way of life of the people, even when coping with natural disasters such as storms and floods.

The festival is held to honor those who founded the fishing industry and to express gratitude to the whale who helped people avoid natural disasters at sea.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee - said that the Xuong Ly Dam Fishing Festival was recognized as a
