Specifically, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , on November 17th, the Government issued Decree No. 80/2023 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Government Decrees 95 and 83 on petroleum business.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade officially announced that the latest fuel price adjustment date is November 23rd.
Accordingly, fuel price adjustments are made every Thursday. If the adjustment coincides with the Lunar New Year, the following applies: If Thursday falls on the last day of the Lunar year (the 29th or 30th of the Lunar New Year), the fuel price adjustment is made on the preceding Wednesday. If Thursday falls on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd day of the Lunar New Year, the fuel price adjustment is made on the 4th day of the Lunar New Year.
In cases where operating hours coincide with a public holiday, the following procedure applies: If Thursday falls on the immediately preceding Wednesday.
If the Thursday falls on any of the remaining holidays, the petrol price adjustment period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.
In cases where fuel prices fluctuate unusually, affecting socio-economic development and people's lives, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is responsible for reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on an appropriate timeframe for adjusting fuel prices.
Therefore, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, after Decree 80 comes into effect, the fuel price adjustment will be carried out next Thursday (November 23).
Previously, according to the regulations in Decrees 95 and 83, the 1st, 11th, and 21st of each month (if these fall on a public holiday, the adjustment will be postponed to the next day or adjusted in the next period) were the periods for adjusting gasoline and diesel prices.
