According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnamese negotiating delegation was led by Minister of Industry and Trade, Head of the Government Negotiating Delegation Nguyen Hong Dien, with the participation of members from ministries and branches.

During the four days of negotiations, the Vietnamese and US delegations made much progress, narrowing the gap in all areas of negotiations. The two sides had frank and constructive discussions on issues of concern to each country.

This is reflected in the response document that Vietnam sent to the US, while taking time to listen to analysis and explanations towards a suitable solution that both sides can accept.

In addition, the two sides also agreed to hold an online meeting in the coming days to continue discussing outstanding issues and prepare for online negotiations between US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Minister Nguyen Hong Dien.

Notably, in the final working session of the technical-level negotiation session, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien had a negotiation session at the same time with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Ambassador Jamieson Greer, Chief of the US Trade Representative.

This is the first time the US has proposed a ministerial-level negotiation in this manner. At the negotiation session, based on the results of the 4-day negotiation between the two sides, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien proposed a number of ideas to promote the process and bring about the negotiation results.
