At exactly 6:00 AM on September 30th, the PMP 60T pontoon bridge, temporarily replacing the Phong Chau bridge and installed by Brigade 249 (Engineering Corps), officially opened to traffic for people and vehicles.
Brigade 249 is tasked with coordinating with local forces and agencies to directly manage and operate the pontoon bridge crossing and ensure the safety of people and vehicles crossing the bridge.

Officers and soldiers of Brigade 249 regularly inspect and patrol the bridge to control traffic flow and ensure safe and smooth traffic.

Brigade 249 mobilized forces with 12 units, including: Command; technical inspection; emergency response team on the bridge; river obstacle handling team; boat and tugboat operation team; bridge guarding and guidance team; rescue and towing team; repair team; access road handling team; upstream surveillance unit (using speedboats); downstream surveillance unit (using canoes)... to constantly monitor, inspect, and ensure the technical condition and safety of the pontoon bridge.

The combat engineers removed drifting debris that was affecting the pontoon bridge.

Soldiers help an elderly woman cross a pontoon bridge amidst heavy traffic.

Military engineers assist people in having difficulty safely going up and down the bridge, ensuring smooth traffic flow.

For those unfamiliar with using the pontoon bridge, the soldiers assisted in safely bringing people's vehicles ashore.

Traffic is expected to be ensured across the bridge from 6 AM to 10 PM daily. Simultaneously, the pontoon bridge operating unit will temporarily close the bridge for watercraft traffic from 10 PM the previous day to 5 AM the following day. Between 5 AM and 6 AM each day, the engineering corps will proceed with reconnecting the bridge.
