The Saigon River bank on the Thu Thiem side is about to have a brilliant sunflower field.

The project of creating land for planting sunflowers, beautifying the riverbank, cleaning up... is part of the project to build the Saigon Riverbank Park, which has just been agreed upon by the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to be implemented with socialized resources.

According to VietNamNet reporters, the first projects are gradually being implemented on the Thu Thiem side.

Workers leveled and leveled the ground along the Saigon River in Thu Thiem, part of phase 1 of the project. The city leaders will continue to study and agree on the work in phase 2 to be carried out after Tet.

Hundreds of meters of Saigon River bank on the Thu Thiem side from Ong Cay bridge to Ba Son bridge are being leveled, cleaned, and prepared for planting sunflowers.

Previously, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City proposed a plan to renovate and decorate the Saigon River bank space with a length of about 830m and a width of about 50m. This area stretches along the river from Ba Son Bridge to Thu Thiem Tunnel. Before being renovated into a park, this place was a natural vegetation, uneven, low slope close to the river bank.

According to the previous proposal of Thu Duc City People's Committee, there will be 14 items to renovate and decorate the Saigon riverside space including: Sunflower field; Public restroom; Fireworks field and LED screen system for political propaganda combined with advertising; Community activity area; Parking lot; Multi-purpose activity yard; Renovation of wharf...

The implementation of the Saigon Riverside Park project is largely based on previous proposals of the Thu Duc City People's Committee and other important contents, and the city People's Committee leaders are synthesizing opinions and proposals for unified implementation.

According to the plan, items such as: Flower gardens, environmental landscape improvement, parks, semi-flooded spaces and service items... in phase 1 of the project will be completed before the Lunar New Year 2024 to serve the needs of the city's residents.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Thu Duc City People's Committee to coordinate with relevant units to implement the Saigon River Park project. The Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to preside over and direct relevant units to promptly complete and organize the implementation of the project.

The purpose of renovating the Saigon River bank in Thu Thiem into a park is to create a highlight space for Thu Thiem Urban Area, attracting people to visit, entertain and relax. In parallel with the implementation of the project, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and relevant agencies will research and complete the regulations for operation, exploitation, management, maintenance and repair of the project when it is put into use.
