The Minister requested the 12th Army Corps to strengthen its forces, vehicles, machinery, and modern equipment to ensure the best quality in construction; to increase shifts and work schedules, accelerate construction progress, and bring the project into service to meet the transportation needs of the people as soon as possible.

Minister Phan Van Giang also requested that the project management board and contractors comply with State regulations on project management; control the quality of design documents in accordance with regulations; and inspect and control construction materials to ensure quality according to design requirements.

In particular, the units intensified on-site inspections and supervision, urging contractors and consultants to accelerate the progress of signed contracts, determined to complete the new Phong Chau bridge by early October 2025, finishing two months ahead of the original plan, serving the transportation needs of the people and celebrating the Congress of the Party Committee of the Army.

According to the design, the new Phong Chau bridge has a total length of over 652m, of which the bridge length up to the end of the abutment is approximately 383m.

The bridge's starting point is on National Highway 32C, in Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district; the end point is in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district. The bridge is 20.5m wide, accommodating 4 lanes of motorized vehicles.

The bridge was constructed using reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete girders. The main bridge section consists of 3 continuous girder spans, constructed using balanced cantilever; the abutments and piers are made of reinforced concrete, with bored pile foundations.

The connecting road sections at both ends of the bridge are designed to meet the standards of a Class III road in flat terrain, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The total investment is over 635 billion VND.

After more than two months, the construction unit has completed 79 pile foundations for the new Phong Chau bridge, 10 days ahead of schedule as committed. Taking advantage of favorable weather, the unit is currently pouring concrete to seal the base of the piers, driving retaining wall piles, excavating foundations to build the foundation base and the pier body, and casting bridge girders.
