Participating in launching the contest were representatives of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province; representatives of the Board of Directors of schools and students of 41 secondary schools in An Giang province.

Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, said that the contest is not only a useful playground for students but also contributes to widely disseminating knowledge about the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people; and regulations of Vietnamese and international laws on seas and islands.
The online contest was held from December 1 to 7 with a system of rich, attractive and useful questions on the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines and the State's policies and laws on seas and islands; preventing IUU fishing; preventing and combating drugs and the harmful effects of drugs; school violence; history, local cultural and social traditions...

After the online exam ends, the Organizing Committee will organize a live exam with the participation of 150 students who achieved high results in the online exam.
Previously, Squadron 42, Coast Guard Region 4 Command coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province to organize the contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" for secondary school students in Ca Mau province. The contest was organized online and in person.
The online round attracted nearly 40,000 students from 51 secondary schools in 19 coastal communes and wards.
The contest has created a widespread influence, contributing to fostering patriotism, love for the sea and islands of the Fatherland, bringing a lot of useful knowledge to students in Ca Mau province.

The contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" is one of the typical models, contributing to fostering love for the sea and islands and national pride for the young generation.
Up to now, Squadron 42 has organized more than 20 competitions online and in person, with the participation of 89 secondary schools; more than 71,000 students participating in online competitions; more than 4,000 students participating in in-person competitions; and more than 18,000 teachers and students cheering.
Along with the contest, the Navy awarded 72 scholarships, 140 bicycles, more than 5,000 student notebooks, nearly 500 school bags and many other meaningful activities.
