China women's volleyball team are the defending champions of the tournament. But in the quarterfinals, they had to face Italy U21, their old opponent who lost to them in the final of the tournament 2 years ago.

China have been the better team since the start of the tournament. They have won all their group matches and then went on to crush Thailand in the round of 16.

On the contrary, U21 Italy showed an unconvincing performance. In the group stage, they lost to Poland and were pushed down to second place. That is the reason why the defending champion and the defending runner-up will soon face each other in the quarter-finals.

With their name, fans expected an exciting, dramatic match. But the reality was the opposite. Only in the first set did the Chinese women's volleyball team cause trouble.
