At a press conference following the annual congress, VFF leaders announced that in the first nine months of 2023, the VFF achieved total revenue of 317 billion VND, total expenses of 310 billion VND, and a profit of over 7.43 billion VND.
Regarding this, VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi stated that the VFF has achieved 80% of its planned revenue, ensuring the operation of the national teams and other activities in 2023.
Meanwhile, VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu affirmed: "Vietnamese football has always been closely linked to society. In 2023, the Vietnamese economy faced difficulties, and football was inevitably affected."
However, the VFF still achieved its goals and met the plan set at the beginning of the year. By the end of September, the VFF's revenue had reached 80% of the plan, making it likely that the plan will be completed in 2023, while further efforts will be needed to ensure revenue targets are met in 2024."
Also at the meeting on the morning of October 15th, the VFF set two important goals for the Vietnamese national team in the coming period.
"For the 2024 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese national team must strive to reach the round of 16, a very difficult task, and the federation will certainly make thorough preparations for the team."
"The matches against China, Uzbekistan, and South Korea are part of the preparation for the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, as well as the 2024 Asian Cup. We want to repeat our 2022 achievement, which was reaching the third round of qualifiers," Mr. Tran Anh Tu continued.
In addition, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) aim to have 4 matches per round in the V-League 2023-2024 using VAR technology.
