Recently, on June 27th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision to inscribe Hue beef noodle soup into the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, affirmed that this is not only a source of pride for the people of the ancient capital but also opens up great opportunities for Hue to elevate the value of its traditional cuisine on the international stage.

In the context of Hue's efforts to build its application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the culinary field, this title is a true testament to the cultural depth and enduring vitality of Hue cuisine in general, and Hue beef noodle soup in particular.
To effectively promote this heritage brand, according to Mr. Hai, Hue needs to implement comprehensive solutions. First and foremost is building a brand identity for "Hue Beef Noodle Soup – A Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" with criteria regarding ingredients, processing techniques, dining space, and the accompanying cultural story.

Standardizing and protecting the brand is fundamental to safeguarding heritage values against the threat of uncontrolled commercialization. Simultaneously, it is necessary to promote creative communication activities, connecting Hue beef noodle soup with cultural and tourism products such as culinary experience tours, Hue beef noodle soup festivals, or a series of culinary exchange events with cities both domestically and internationally.
Mr. Hai believes that these initiatives not only help spread brand awareness but also demonstrate creativity in preserving and promoting heritage. This is an important criterion in UNESCO's Creative Cities Network.
On the other hand, training human resources and supporting noodle vendors to improve service quality, ensure food safety and hygiene, and build a professional service style should also be prioritized. This is a way to preserve the spirit of heritage in contemporary life.
"From a humble dish, Bun Bo Hue is gradually becoming a symbol of cultural creativity of a city. If effectively exploited, this dish will not only help Hue get closer to UNESCO status, but also contribute to bringing Vietnamese cuisine further on the world cultural map," Mr. Hai observed.
