The recruitment drive will take place in the next few days, and Tran Thi Phuong Thao (24 years old, residing in Huynh Cong Dong village, Trung Nam commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province) is one of the new recruits.

After graduating from the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Hue University), Thao was hired as a manager at a large farm in Binh Phuoc province, earning approximately 18 million VND per month. This was a dream salary for a girl from Quang Tri, so every month Thao sent 4 million VND to her younger sister, Tran Thi Thu Thuy (a student at the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue), and to her parents in her hometown. However, after working for six months, in October 2023, Thao informed her family and expressed her desire to enlist in the army. As the only two daughters in the family, Thao's intention to enlist initially surprised her parents. With their support, Thao immediately wrote a volunteer enlistment application to the local military command. By the end of January 2024, Thao received her conscription order. "I'm young, and I want to join the army to test myself, train, and fulfill my duty as a citizen," Thao shared.

Joining the military recruitment drive this time, in Vinh Linh district, there are two more female recruits: Le Thi Kim Oanh (23 years old, from Hien Thanh commune) and Luu Thi Ngoc Ha (23 years old, from Vinh Long commune). After graduating from university in June 2023, Oanh applied for a job at a law office in Hue . However, upon learning about the 2024 military recruitment, Oanh boldly asked her family for permission to register for military service.

This year's military recruitment season marks the first time Huong Hoa District has had a female volunteer enlisting from the Pa Ko ethnic minority group: Ho Ha Bao Thuong (22 years old, residing in A Xoc Lia village, Lia commune). Born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, with her father being a border guard, Thuong has been proud since childhood and dreamed of one day becoming a soldier serving in the armed forces.

When her parents learned that Thuong had volunteered for police service, they frequently encouraged her to go with peace of mind and train hard to complete her duties at the unit.
