The central urban axis will be from the urban gateway to the center of Bai Dai area. The development focus will be on key functions at the regional and urban levels.

The total capital investment demand for urban infrastructure construction is estimated at about 320,000 billion VND, with the goal of building and developing Cam Lam into a growth pole in the south of Khanh Hoa province and the South Central region; contributing to making Khanh Hoa a centrally-run city.

According to this plan, Cam Lam new urban area has a total natural area of ​​more than 54,700 hectares (excluding Thuy Trieu lagoon area), including all 14 administrative units of Cam Lam district.

Regarding population forecast, the population size by 2030 is about 320,000 people; of which the urban population is about 224,000 people, the urbanization rate is about 70%. The population size by 2045 is about 770,000 people; of which the urban population is about 639,780 people, the urbanization rate is about 83%.
