The fake "Love and Compassion" fanpage calls for donations and support for the cost of renovating and repairing Pho Quang Pagoda.

Immediately after discovering that some units and individuals impersonating Pho Quang Pagoda posted articles calling for donations, the pagoda's representative spoke up to confirm: Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and verify the cause of the fire at Pho Quang Pagoda. The information that the pagoda called for joint efforts to restore the pagoda on the fanpage is incorrect; people need to be vigilant and not transfer money to personal accounts on the fake fanpage.

To protect themselves from fraud, people need to be vigilant and not send donations to accounts of unknown origin. At the same time, report to the authorities when detecting fanpages or personal accounts that show signs of fraud.

Pho Quang Pagoda is a national historical and cultural relic, recognized by the State in Decision No. 92-VHTT/QD, dated July 10, 1980 of the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). The pagoda was built over 800 years ago and still preserves many valuable relics and antiques, including a stone Buddhist altar recognized as a national treasure.

On the morning of October 23, 2024, upon receiving a report from the People that a fire had been discovered at Pho Quang Pagoda, the authorities promptly arrived at the scene to carry out firefighting, ensure security and order, traffic safety, protect the scene and conduct an initial investigation into the cause of the fire. Currently, the Institute of Criminal Science ( Ministry of Public Security ) is coordinating with the authorities to conduct an investigation to clarify the cause of the fire at Pho Quang Pagoda.
